Operation Compassion Food Pantry

What is Operation Compassion?
As a community church, not only are we dedicated to the spiritual needs of our community, but we are also concerned about the physical and emotional as well.

The Operation Compassion Ministry at Solid Rock provides services and information resources to assist you in getting your life together during difficult times.

Read our article: Breaking New Food Pantry Records in 2012.

Food Pantry
Our Food Pantry is open on the second and fourth Monday of each month from 6:00pm to 7:00pm in our Solid Rock Fellowship Hall.

Operation Compassion is God's extended hands to the church and our community going through difficult times.

We are also looking for volunteers to help pack and distribute our Food Pantry items. We are also in need of strong men to help bring the food boxes from the Food Bank to our church food pantry.

John 6:35 - Jesus declared, I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.

Nutrition Education & Resources
"Just Say Yes to Fruits and Vegetables" is a Food Stamp Nutrition Education Program funded by the United States Department of Agriculture with matching funds from the New York State Department of Health. "Just Say Yes" provides free nutrition education programs and resources to food stamp eligible populations and community partners in New York State.

Operation Compassion would like to thank Amy Robilac (845) 534-5344, who is the nutritionist for the Hudson Valley Region "Just Say Yes to Fruits and Vegetables" for the informative workshop on food portions and information about making different dishes that she provides once a month.

Anyone in the community is welcome to be a part of these informative workshops.

Food Stamp Information
The Food Stamp Program makes America stronger by helping low-income households to purchase the food they need to keep themselves and their families healthy. It was establishedin 1964 and is a 100% federally funded program.

Currently, the Food Stamp Program helps put food on the table for some 25 million individuals each day. It provides low-income households with a card (called an Electronic Benefit Transfer or EBT card) that operates like a debit card which can be used like money to buy food at most grocery stores, supermarkets, or co-ops. You do not have to pay for food stamps. Unfortunately, in NYS approximately 44% of those who are eligible for Food Stamp benefits are not receiving them because many people do not realize they are eligible for this important nutrition assistance program.

Mission Statement
To spread the love of Jesus Christ, by touching the hearts of souls of those in need. We aim to assist our brothers and sisters both nutritionally and spiritually through the extended loving arms of Jesus Christ our Lord and only Savior, through whom all things are made possible.

"For I was hungry and you gave me food. I was thirsty and you gave me drink. I was a stranger and you took me in…." Matthew 25:35

"I say to you, in as much as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me." Matthew 25:40

Vision Statement
Every man at Solid Rock Church of God, both young and old, is realizing and acting wholeheartedly upon the calling that God has placed in our lives to be men of prayer and intercessors of Christ today! All Men are standing in the gap between the living and the dead believing God for who He is, and who He has called us to be and do in Him. We have set our faces like flint, and we will not be ashamed.

We stand as men of valor fearing no man and trusting our God and Savior for everything we need because we know, and our fully persuaded that our relationship is rooted and grounded in the solid rock of Christ Jesus our Lord.
