Son of a Pastor, Louis was raised in a Christian home. He graduated from James Monroe High School in the Bronx in 1968.

He earned an Associates Degree from NYC College of Technology, and went on to study at the Latin American Bible Institute in La Puente, California where he graduated in 1973. Louis received his licensed ministerial credentials while attending Love Gospel Assembly in the Bronx in 1981.

In 2001, Louis was appointed as an Elder at Solid Rock. Louis is a dedicated member and spiritual leader whose christian foundation was laid in his early childhood. His efforts to educate and develop future leaders is vital in expanding the Kingdom of God in the years to come. Louis and his wife Iris are both involved in ministry at Solid Rock. He is the proud father of two grown sons.

Hector Correa retired from the military in 2005 after serving as the Garrison Command Sergeant Major at West Point Military Academy, in all he served 22 years in the military and is presently a JROTC instructor.

Born in Guayama, Puerto Rico and raised in the Bronx N.Y., Hector is a father of two, Justin and Elaine, and a grandfather. Hector is married to the lovely Miriam Correa.

In 1991 he was ordained as Teacher and Evangelist by the Missionary Church International. He has served as Sunday school Teacher, children’s church teacher, Bible study teacher, Director of Christian Education, Deacon, Elder, Minister, Prison Ministry Minister, and quest speaker at many churches. Hector has helped establish churches in Germany and in Bosnia. He also has traveled overseas as a Christian educator advisor to churches in Barcelona, Spain.

Hector, along with his wife Miriam, has taught marriage classes since 1990 and continue to do so at Solid Rock. He is currently enrolled in Defiance College where he is finishing his degree in Religious Education. Hector’s heart is to serve the people of God in any capacity that His Spirit leads him. He loves teaching the Word of God and seeing married couples move from a performance based relationship to a faith based relationship.

Kevin Smalls has been a member of Solid Rock since 2004. Since that time he has demonstrated his passion for God and his gifts in several ministries at our church ranging from drama to discipleship ministry.

Kevin is currently the leader of our New Creations Ministry. Since taking on this role, he has redesigned the New Creations curriculum to include several "hands-on" ministry internship opportunities, which greatly help the new believer learn how to put into practice the basic truths of God's Word.

At the age of 15, Kevin led his first bible study to 5th graders and has always valued the importance of discipleship at an early age. In addition, he also coordinates the travel services provided through our Transportation Ministry to assist people in getting to the church that otherwise would not be able to on their own.

As a community leader, Kevin serves as a sergeant in the New York Police Department in the South Bronx and has also led Bible studies at his police precinct. Kevin is a faithful husband and proud father of 3 children. Together with his wife Valerie, they involve the entire family in ministry and servant evangelism, both in and out of the church. He is man who loves the Lord and is a servant in all aspects of the word.

What is an Elder?
An elder is responsible for personal holiness and the care, oversight, leadership and shepherding of Solid Rock Church. They are accountable to God on behalf of the church.

Personal Duties
Elder must be personally committed to maintain the qualifications of an elder as found in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9, a daily prayer life, a commitment to regular study of the Word of God (1 Timothy 5:17), and financial stewardship

Church Care and Oversight
Each elder should care for and oversee the church. Some of the duties include: being available to pray with those in need, ministry and teaching of the Word, provide oversight and allocation of church finances to ensure that we are properly funding the vision and mission of the church, issues of discipline, and helping to communicate the mission and vision of the church.

Leadership
Regularly attend Senior Leadership Team Meetings, determine and resolve doctrinal issues as they arise, resolve conflicts/disciplinary issues within the body, attend corporate church gatherings, and being available and visible to church members and guests.
