Honoring Our Pastor

Sunday ~ April 27, 2014

Join us for this special day where we take extra time to express our appreciation to our Senior Pastor, Tom Stimpson, for his leadership, vision, and love during both our 9:00am and 11:00am services.
"But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; or he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does." James 22-25
This year’s theme is “Kingdom Advancement with Our Pastor”. As we look back over the past years, we acknowledge where we have come from and are grateful for God’s continual provision and faithfulness. As we look ahead, we do so with great anticipation for a great and mighty move of God, in our midst.

Pastor Tom’s heart is totally committed to seeing the work of the Lord being fulfilled in our lives personally, throughout our congregation, our community, our nation and our world. We know that as the coming of our Lord approaches, our greatest days lie ahead of us!

"The love of Christ constrains me...and woe is me if I preach not the gospel". Such is the call and the personal commitment of our pastor. Today, some people still attest to the value of a spiritual pastor, and both perceive and honor his mission. We are such people! If we are wise, enough to recognize our need as sheep, our godly leaders are appreciated, and whatever value we may place on our pastor, God has made his opinion clear: Our God holds our shepherd in very high regard, and His Word reveals sheep tending as a high-level office in heaven’s books. It shows the role of pastoring as being filled with significance—to be defined and rewarded on the highest terms.

We cannot fully express our appreciation to the man of God and their family for their faithfulness and commitment to the body of Christ at Solid Rock. His wife, Elaine, is also committed to the body of Christ as she exemplifies the love of God to all as a leader, a counselor, a teacher, and a friend. She diligently works alongside her husband and plays a vital role as she cares for their family, as well as the family of God. We are a blessed body of believers, as we have gleaned much under both Pastor Tom and Elaine’s leadership.
