Ushers Team
The Ushers Team is a component of the Member & Guest Relations department at Solid Rock. This department is responsible for unifying and coordinating several related teams to function as a single "personal touch" unit that serves the needs of members and guests of Solid Rock Church.Solid Rock Ushers are a committed team, called by God to demonstrate an attitude of servant leadership to our members and guests through personalized service, the preservation of order, and timely information.
Ushers Team Structure and Responsibilities
Service
- Maintain a visible and approachable presence at all official church events
- Be quick to serve or assist members and guests in any way necessary
- Pay special attention to those with special needs or disabilities
- Direct members and guests to appropriate seating and accommodate everyone
- Those on duty should arrive at least 15 minutes before service for assignments
- Inspect sanctuary for anything out of order prior to service
- Maintain order and reverence as the congregation enters the sanctuary
- Execute tithes and offering collection according to church guidelines
- Maintain order during alter call and service dismissal
- Have a clear plan for emergency response situations
- Distribute offering envelopes, approved flyers, bulletins, etc. as required
- Provide members and guests with timely and accurate information when asked
- Directions to building facilities or classrooms
- Ensure a personal handoff to a leader or staff who can answer the question
